Rated Kemble as outstanding & good employer
Almost half of our visiting care staff have been with us for 5 years or more, We are proud of our carer professionals and the work they do, and many of them have been with us for decades. Read more about Kemble carers here. In our most recent survey we asked our caregivers what they thought about working with us:
Our training is excellent and is something that sets up apart. We offer in-person, in-depth, tailored training to equip and develop our team. There are opportunities for specialised on-going training once you join Kemble, such as Dementia and End of Life.
We understand that caring is a career like no other and we are here to support you. When you join Kemble, you will get to know everyone in the office very well. From the moment you arrive you'll meet Alison, putting you at ease and sorting out your paperwork; possibly with one of her dogs at her feet! You will meet Jason who will train you and ensure you are ready to go out into Herefordshire homes. You will meet your manager and care co-ordinator (Sarah and Natassja or Jason and Carly depending on where you live) who not only sorting out your rotas, but are at the end of the phone for constant support should you need it. And most importantly, you will meet the carers in your team.
What you will do as a care professional
As a Care Professional in our Visiting Team you will be visiting people in their homes; supporting them to remain at home doing exactly what they want. A care assistant job is just that assisting and caring.
So for some people this will be helping them do the shopping or keeping the house in order, others need support with medication or a medical condition, and many people may simply want some company during lonely days. You could be walking their dog, calling in at the pharmacy or helping them shower or get ready for the day.
Each day will be different and you will be the expert, building up a strong relationship with them; their family and other healthcare professionals. A caregiver job is like no other; you will support and enable people to live a full and dignified life.

The benefit of a career in care
Care is a hugely rewarding career. Many of our carers have double figures of years working with us, getting on quietly in an often hidden role. Since the pandemic everyone have seen the vital role that care worker jobs bring to so many.
You will enable people to remain living as independently as they can, helping them to stay in their home, with all their familiar belongings, and possibly their beloved pet. You are helping them to remain fit and healthy, living the life they choose, understanding what they want and how they would like to be supported. You are the companion, the extra pair of hands and the support that they need.
Your skills and expertise are extremely valuable and with more and more people choosing to remain at home it is a career with a bright future. Domiciliary care jobs are important to so many people in Herefordshire.
