Life as a carer
Start your job in care today. You are looking for a rewarding role that fits in with your lifestyle, skills and expertise. Being a care professional with Kemble at Home can be worthwhile, flexible and fulfilling.
What you will do as a care professional
As a Care Professional with Kemble at Home, you will be supporting people in their homes; enabling them to remain at home doing exactly what they want. Many of our carers stay with the same client for a long time and form lasting bonds.
So for some people this will be helping them do the shopping or keeping the house in order, others need support with medication or a medical condition, and many people may simply want some company during lonely days.
Each day will be different and you will be the expert, building up a strong relationship with those people you support and enabling them to live a full and dignified life.
Some of the tasks our carers didn't expect to do include:
-
dog walking
-
pruning plants in the garden
-
sorting cupboards
-
escorting clients' to various activities and appointments
-
reading poetry in the garden
-
completing jigsaw puzzles with the family
-
chatty walks down country lanes
These and lots more. Each day is different.
“My carer is very kind, gentle, a good listener and has a lot of patience”
What do you need?
-
The right to live and work in the UK. We currently cannot sponsor anyone.
-
A valid driving licence and your own car.
-
References - we ask all candidates who have been offered a job to provide at least two referees who we can contact for references.
-
To complete an enhanced DBS (criminal record) check. We are obliged to check for a criminal record if we offer you a job, but previous offences by no means mean that we cannot employ you. Social care roles are exempt under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. This means that we need to take our staff's criminal history into account when making recruitment decisions, to ensure that all our staff are suitable to work with our clients. Having a criminal record does not necessarily mean that we cannot employ you, and we encourage those with previous offences to apply. Click here to read more about our approach to recruiting people with a criminal record.

Lovely company to work for, very supportive, great staff
I’ve experienced an exceptionally warm welcome into the company which is always a very good start for any newcomer which in turn puts them at ease.
I like the relaxed, professional atmosphere.
