We are...

Winner of the Care Employer Award!

Kemble at Home has been rated among the best employers in the care sector. In 2019, we won the Care Employer Award at both the Hereford Times Health & Social Care Awards and at the Great West Midlands Care Awards, and we are finalists in the 2020 Great British Care Awards!

Our pride and joy - our carers!

We are incredibly proud that our carers have built up a reputation for being gentle, non-intrusive, proactive and professional.

They come from all walks of life, and many of them have caring in their blood. Some come from a family of care professionals, others have cared for a loved one before joining our team.

Meet some of the stars who make it all happen.

Meet some of our amazing carers...

Many of our carers have got some amazing life stories to tell. Here, we will put one of our carers in the spotlight and try to find out a little bit more about them.

“I felt amazingly happy to have the little queen of the jungle on my lap”

Meet Jin, who is not only a carer in our team but who is also one of our qualified specialists in holistic therapy and massage. Jin can do wonders in making people feel better – in both body and in spirit.

"Sometimes my job is simply being quiet with someone"

Meet Di, a true Herefordian. Her personal experience of caring for her family members has given her an insight into the work that she loves.

"We'll bumble through this together"

Paul is another one of our carers who has a rather unusual hobby. Very unusual. Quite violent, too, it has to be said. But boy does it sound like great fun!

And he is probably one of the few people who can say they have broken Jamie Oliver's kitchen worktop. And then had to make him a new one.

"I have the perfect balance of everything "

Mary can be found looking after her friends' dogs and walking in the Malvern Hills with her grandchildren.

She describes her life as the perfect balance (luckily she's pretty good at shoulder rides too)

“I’ve been going to some people for 8 years, they are more like friends.”

Sue has been with us for 9 years, the common thread of being with people has always remained at the heart of what she loves about her work.

"It's absolutely fascinating, I like teasing out a story with the people I work with"

How we recruit and train our staff

Our carers are the cornerstone of who we are, and it is imperative to us that they reflect and ‘live’ our core values. We recruit our staff based on their approach and attitude, and we look for people who have an optimistic outlook, focus on solutions and who have the energy to ‘make things happen’.

We want our staff to take initiative and to have a natural ability to gauge what other people need. A good carer intuitively knows when to sit down for a chat, when to initiate getting some fresh air, or when to simply be around and blend quietly into the background.

All our carers receive intensive training before working with clients. We train them in-house with our sister company Kemble Training, which specialises in providing training for care professionals.

The training programme is designed to give carers all the skills and tools they need in their role, including the ability to support with (and recognise changes in) complex conditions like Dementia, Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, MS and Diabetes.

If a client has specific requirements, for instance due to complex medication or rare mobility issues, we can offer their carers specialists training in that area. That way, you can always remain with your trusted carer, even when circumstances change.

Kemble Pa - personal care support

Visiting care is, in plain terms, support by the hour. Your Kemble PA comes and visit you, as and when you need it, as long as necessary. Whether that is an hour in the morning to help with the morning routine, several short visits a day or the better part of the day, visiting care is completely adaptable to your situation.

Our approach to visiting care is unique, and we are sure you will love it.

Live-in care in Hereford

Live-in care is becoming increasingly popular, and for good reason. A carer comes to live with you and is available to help both day and night. Live-in care can be an alternative to residential care, and can be an attractive option for people suffering from physical conditions that require ongoing attention like Dementia, Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s and Diabetes.
